Monday 30th of June

Wow! The weeks are passing really fast and the children are getting excited about Sport's day on July 8th and the trip to Gulliver's world.

Year Three children should have come home with their Holy Communion photograph and of course the group photograph. Please send the orders back by Friday so the photographer can process the order in good time for the end of term Thank you.

We are approaching a very sad time on Friday as Mr Slavin is leaving our school as Miss Robinson is coming back full time. We really thank Mr Slavin for the way he has fitted in and the way he has taught the children. Both the children and the staff will be sorry to see him go and we really wish him well in the future.

The open day at school was very successful and there were lots of comments in the visitor's book in the office afterwards. Some of the verbal comments were......

A fantastic school....

Lovely atmosphere....

So welcoming.....

Amazing key board skills....sounded excellent...

We are very proud of our children and our school. Throughout the week all the children did lots of activities related to Spain and Spanish. The children really enjoyed the Flamenco dancing and thank you to every one who has supported the book fayre this week. All the commission always goes to pay for new resources for the children such as new books. Thank you to anyone who bought a book for their class too from the wish lists made available.

Key Board concert from the Year Three

On Thursday the 17th of July at 9.00am there will be a short concert put on by the Year Three. They will be showing you all some of the skills that they have learnt.

Sport's Day

This coming week we hope to get busy with our preparations for Sport's day on July 8th. We are going to put the children into three teams and these teams are called:Alban, Columba and Bede. The children will be sorted into age related races and then the different teams compete against each other on the day. The children will be given points from the races as well as 1st, 2nd and 3rd stickers. The children absolutely love Sport's day and we hope that it will go ahead again this year after the wash out of last year.

Please make sure that you child has the correct size pumps and provide them with a white tee shirt and school blue shorts. Also sending in suntan lotion, named water bottles and a hat is a good idea too as I am sure we are going to be blessed with some more sunshine!

Best Work:

The children will be choosing some special work from their books that will be brought home at the end of the year so that you can see the standard of work that they are completing at the end of this academic year. The children always love looking through all their books to find suitable pieces and are always amazed at how much they have come on throughout the year.

DT

All the classes are busy with their DT projects such as designing their own idea for a useful object, making bird boxes and practising their sewing expertise. Please feel free to come and see the display in Mrs Harding's room on bird boxes, they are amazing!

Finally here are a few sites to keep the children busy as we come to the final weeks of the summer.
