Monday 8th June

Welcome to this week's blog spot. Summer has finally arrived and we hope everyone is raring to go in the final six weeks of this current year. It has gone so fast and the children have worked really hard. This week we will be still doing a few tests for the children who have been way.

We will be doing lots of practising for the Holy Communion on the 20th of June. Please remember we need some Year 4 parents to set up the hall in preparation for the Saturday Holy Communion. This will be on the Friday afternoon 19th June.

On the 16th of June we will have our Away day for the Year 3 children who are making their Holy Communion. This week we will be sorting out the groups for the day and also what food they will need to bring. We will be staying up at church/centre all day. There will be a short service for families to attend at 2.30pm. We will need people to walk up with us and also on Friday morning too when we are having a practise in church. We usually start to walk back from church this day at 10.30am.

The seating plan of the church for Saturday 20th will be sent home this week too so you will know what side of the church your child will be on. Your family name will be on that side of the church to on the allocated seats that you will be given.

PLEASE REMEMBER YOUR SWIMMING KITS THIS WEEK.

ALSO YOUR PE KIT AND PUMPS FOR OUTDOOR PE.

There will be no homework this week and we hope to start afresh next week.

BALLOON RACE

The Friends of St Vincents will be starting off our balloon race this week.

Remember this week we have our Walking Bus which operates every Thursday and Friday.

Literacy - Poetry

This week we are studying and writing two forms of poetry - Haiku Poems (Japanese poems) and Kennings Poems. Both these style of poems have a simple structure and focus on using well thought out vocabulary and in Haiku poetry - the correct number of syllables. I'm sure we will have fun exploring and writing our own poerty. As well as this we will be reviewing the use of the apostrophe for missing out letters (contractions) and for possession/ belongs to = 's .
