Monday 10th July

The end of the year is fast approaching! Here are just some reminders of what is going on in that rush to the final week.

Reports

You should all have received your reports on Friday, and now know how your child performed through the year as well as who their next teacher will be in September. Can we ask that you send in the acknowledgement slip along with a comment about their report as soon as you can. Thank you.

Camelot

The children in Year 3 and 4 are counting down the days til they get to go to Camelot. Can we remind parents to send any remaining permission slips in as soon as possible. We are grateful to all the 'brave(!)' parents who have offered to help out on the day and once we know final numbers going we will be able to sort the children into groups. We will let parents know if their help is needed later on this week.

D & T

As part of our final design and technology project Miss Robinson's and Miss Harding's class will be making their sandwiches this week. The children should already know what day they need the ingrediants for.

Best Work Books

The children are working hard at the moment to collect together examples of work they have been really proud of this year so that they can share this with you over the summer holidays.

Choir

A final note must go out to the school choir. They performed in the Queen's Gardens on Friday, along with seven other primary schools. They sang beautifully and should be very proud of themselves. A real credit to their families and the school!

Monday 3rd July

What a busy week it was last week! Apologies for the lack of blog but my internet refused to work and I couldn't get it sorted til this weekend.

The First Holy Communion last Saturday was a wonderful day for our Year 3 children who all said they had a special day. A big thank you to everyone who was involved in sharing their day.

Well done to our Year 4's who finally got to share their Kingswood experience with their parents and families. All their hard work, (along with Mrs Bethell's) paid off and the confident presentation clearly communicated the childrens enthusiasm for their time in Kingswood.

Art Exhibition

Our art exhibition on Wednesday was a great success. The children's faces were priceless when they walked into the 'gallery' and saw their masterpieces displayed. There have been lots of very positive comments and it was a lovely way to celebrate the artistic achievements of children throughout the school. If you couldn't make it, or didn't have the opportunity to purchase your child's masterpiece then they are still available in school until Friday 7th July. Just send in £5 along with the name and class of your child and we will get their picture to you.

Sports Day

Our Sport's Day is on Tuesday morning this week (weather permitting, of course). Can you please ensure that your child has: their full p.e. kit, a water bottle, a cap or hat and lots of suncream!

Reports

The end of year report for your child goes out this Friday. Also included will be your child's results based on the Year 3 and 4 optional SATs, as well as which teacher your child will be moving on to next year. We have been really pleased by the work, effort and achievement of Year 3 and 4 this year.

Choir

Our choir are performing in a concert just outside the Parr Hall this Friday afternoon. The children have been practising extremely hard and sound fantastic. I'm sure they will have a super experience.

In Literacy this week we are finishing our work on poetry and shall begin to explore letter writing. In Numeracy we are completing assessments of the childrens progress so far.
